The M/V Orlova built in Yugoslavia in 1976 and refurbished in 1999. The ship is a 90 meter ice-strengthened, is spacious, comfortable ice-strengthened motor, carries a maximum of 110 passengers and has passive stabilizers for smooth sailing.
Cruising at 14 knots, the Orlova is powered by two Russian diesel engines. The ships are staffed by Russian officers and crew, all highly experienced in ice navigation. All the voyages are led by dedicated and enthusiastic expedition staff, many of whom return with to the Antarctic each season.
The accommodation on M/V Orlova ranges from triple and twin cabins to superiors and suites. All cabins have two lower berths and private facilities with either a porthole or window. They also feature a writing desk, sitting space, ample storage, loudspeaker for general announcements and music piped in from the radio room, hairdryers, robes, quality soap and shower gel are available in each cabin.
